This rooster decided he loved our old rosie dog and used to lay with her in her kennel. The kennel never had a door and was on our porch. Both could enter and exit whenever they wanted to :)
Found your blog through Country Girl. I grew up on a dairy farm, married a college prof and ended up in town. There are a lot of things I don't miss about living on a farm, but your blog is a reminder of the life and the animals that I do miss. thanks
I love these especially the one where everyone is working in the garden (I am guessing that is what they are doing). But I also love the chicken in the dog house.
Hi Deb, The black and white pictures look so good. Just like country life. Your barn looks a lot like ours. I like that you showed there is work involved on a farm. We know about that part too. Great photos. Have a good day. pam
Linda, Thank you :) Actually I didn't touch the photos. They are exactly as they were taken. It was amazing how that rooster loved that dog. She was 14 in the photo and laid in her kennel most of the time at that point. That rooster was always around her somewhere. I really think it missed her when she passed away.
Joanna, Thank you - we do have a wonderful home life and I thank God everyday for my life and my family.
Country Girl, Your welcome :) I'm glad you liked the photos. I really like b/w photos - sometimes I think they tell more of a story than the color photos do.
Your right - some days are harder than others for sure. I'm really looking forward to spring :) Take good care ~
kristi, Thank you :) The barn is my favorite place to hang out. Yes - that is me in the photo along with my Mom and Dad, dogs and roosters. Fall cleanup in the garden became food for the pigs :)
Leenie, Your welcome and thanks so much for stopping by. I worked in town for years and sometimes I miss the convenience of things but not enough to ever want to go back :)
egghead, You guessed right - we are pulling up broccoli plants for the pigs. That's my Mom and Dad helping me along with the critters :)
pam, Glad you liked the photos - there is a lot of work involved isn't there?! There is a special story about these b/w photos. As soon as I get time, I'm going to blog about it. I have many of them and love them all.

I love the black and white, what a great effect! Why is the chicken in with the dog?

Oh, those are wonderful! You did a good job with the light and shadows!
Isn't it neat how animals will and do make friends with each other and including us.

I like the black & whites Deb. Y'all have such a wonderful home and life, I'm envious (envious in a good way). :-)
These photos are really nice. I love the borders around them, too. Thanks, Debi, for the encouragement. It's hard sometimes, is all.
Your barn is just awesome!!! Is that you in the garden picture?? The black and white shots give so much character to the moment!
