Otis!!

The newest member of our farm family arrived Monday evening around 11 pm, via the hitchhiker express. His name is Tylerfarm's Otis the Red. Otis, as he is called is a fun loving, sharpwitted English Shepherd pup that we purchased from Black Sheep Farm in Western NY state. This is also the breeder where Danny, our adult ES was purchased two years ago. Otis is Dan's half brother.
These two became fast friends and Otis follows Dan everywhere. He learns quickly and is eager to please. He has been to the barn to do chores with us since he arrived and has great instincts regarding his place and what is expected of him. He already loves to herd the two housecats :)

We are really enjoying having a pup around the farm again. I'll post more photos soon.

Otis is so cute. Sounds like he is a sharp little feller too. It's great he and Dan have bonded so well. Enjoy him!

What a handsome pup! You can just SEE the intelligence in his face.

My English Shepherd, 'Bellamica' has turned out to be the perfect farm dog. I can't recommend the breed highly enough! She's great with ALL of the animals ~ loves to work (when I say so) yet is quiet and content to be in the house.

Oh, a puppy is a delicious thing! Enjoy all the puppy breath, soft fuzzy fur and sharp teeth. :) They turn into grown up dogs so quickly! He looks like a great little guy-enjoy Otis!

Oh, isn't he darling! When I retire in a couple of years I want a puppy. I don't know what Fuzzy will think, or DH, but I know I want one.

She is from near Albany NY. I sure do miss her and my best friends since I moved to Alabama.
I love your guinea header. My blog was all about guineas before we left NY.

OH and my cousin from Dog Trot Farm lives in Maine. She's got chickens too! It's a small world!

Hi There..Looking at Otis is like looking at my daughters dog Mindy. After having to put my 6yr old male Akita mix down, I went with my daughter to pick up a puppy from same breeder and came home with a male puppy myself. My dog Gibbs born June 3rd and my daughters dog Mindy, born June 23. They are remarkable dogs. Gibbs is learning "his" farm. He too loves to herd the cats here on our farm. Enjoy your new addition..they are remarkable in every way!
